“The sky’s beautiful today,” Mimi commented as she looked out the bedroom window from her position on the bed. She looked over at Roger who lay next to her. “Don’t you think so, babe?”

“Mmm hmmm.” Roger’s usual morning response.

Mimi smiled to herself and sat up in the bed. She grabbed Roger’s hand that had been laying across her stomach. She kissed it soothingly. “Wake up, Rog,” Mimi whispered softly, hoping he would do as she wished.

Seeing that Roger was still asleep and that her attempt had failed, she decided to try a different approach. Mimi picked up the pillow she had been resting on and with a mischievous smile, threw it at Roger.

“Wake up, asshole.”

Roger abruptly sat up and glared at his girlfriend. “What was that for?” Roger asked tiredly, yawning and scratching his head at the same time.

“It’s a beautiful day. We shouldn’t waste it in here,” Mimi stated.

“Sleeping with me is a waste,” Roger teased.

“You know what I mean. Just look outside,” Mimi said looking out the window again. Roger did the same.

“Wow. I’ve never seen the sky like that before,” Roger said, staring at the cloudless blue sky.

“I know.” Mimi turned to face Roger. “So what do you think? Breakfast on the fire escape?”

Roger laughed. “Anything for my Mimi,” he replied, kissing her forehead sweetly. Mimi rested her head on Roger’s shoulder and embraced him into a hug. “So why do you think the sky’s like this today?” Roger asked out of curiosity.

“I think I may know why,” Mimi answered, facing the guitarist.

“Do tell, Miss Marquez.”

“Because this is probably the only time I’ve ever been so happy in my life.”

“Really?” Roger asked, looking into Mimi’s gorgeous, brown eyes.

“Yeah,” Mimi replied, looking up into his green eyes also.

Roger pressed his lips against hers for a sweet, chaste kiss. “Well I’ve never been so happy in my life. Not like I am with you.”
